Latest Icelandic Volcano Travel News:
NATS has closed UK Airspace until at least Sunday 18th April 1900 hours. Prognosis for next week not good, wind continuing to blow ash over European airspace and likely to continue until middle/end of next week.
Most of Europe, and all of Northern Europe (except for Lithuania) has closed airspace also.
Tests by Lufthansa, Swiss Air and KLM of flights undertaken at different flight levels to avoid ash as an alternative for all airlines are currently underway. Initial test flights were succesful.
